High Expectations. July, 2017.
High Expectations is a tactile experience designed to inspire and emphasize the necessity of self-reflection by contextualizing its relationship to the internet. I took aim at the tension between actions the internet promotes and the necessities of self-reflection. The entire experience rests on a rug, within a handmade crate. Wrapped in the crate is a compilation of wood and plexi-glass that houses five different comparisons in hopes of creating greater awareness of intention and the importance to disconnect. After reading, viewers are encouraged to digest the text by flipping through a photo album located at the bottom of the crate. Image sources and text citations are also available to the viewer.

Search to See. June, 2017.
Search to See describes a design journey that started by listening to a podcast about communication between trees. The process continued through research and exploitative tangents — far and wide. The first design, Trees Can Fucking Talk, embodies the narrative of the podcast with an intense twist through the use of vocabulary to emphasized the astonishment felt while listening. The second poster, You Don’t Know the Half of It, broke away from the narrative and pushes to express the vastness of knowledge and explosive moments of curiosity. The third and largest poster at 60 x 30 inches, HEATWAVE, trails much farther from the point of origin (the podcast) then its siblings. HEATWAVE pursues a tangent discovered in the preliminary research: making the invisible visible. The composition is formed by three sections that flow into one another to become a single voice representing the growth shared between two individuals. The poster indicates logical elements, only to be contrasted with abstracted emotional distance and growth. The invisible nature of a relationship remains some what invisible to those outside its development.
